Saturday July 19th A gathering or Marauders and Rovers will revisit some of the places around Solihull associated with the company back in 1950.
The event is based at the 4 star Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth which was a regular haunt for people from Rover.
The proposed schedule on the Saturday is gathering at Chesford Grange 10.30am before setting off around the lanes visiting the factory in Kenilworth, Packwood House, the Forest Hotel (where the car was designed, launched, and the Rover Special built), the site of Richard Mead’s yard where the first five Marauders were constructed, Peter Wilks’ house, George Mackie’s house, plus more.
Lunch will be at a pub along the way but sadly not at the Forest as the car park is much smaller than it used to be after a section was sold to Sainsburys.
Anniversary dinner on Saturday evening at the Chesford Grange.
